On the Extended Stay Motels News front, a motel in Las Vegas has recently applied for a permit to offer extended stay motel accommodations to it’s guests. Without the permit, the City of Las Vegas will only allows motel guests to reserve rooms for no more than a couple of weeks at a time, at most. If an extended stay permit is issued to the motel owner, the motel will be able to allow motel guests to stay for a longer period of time including several months at a time. However some proponents of the plan state that the plan has the potential to attract unsavory characters such as drug addicts, drug dealers, prostitutes and maybe even the homeless to the Econo Lodge on Las Vegas Boulevard So. They also say it could possibly have a negative impact on the arts district and a residential neighborhood nearby.

The Las Vegas City Council will vote next month on the motel’s request to turn 40 of its existing 120 rooms into extended stay motel accommodations at the site.
