Delaware was the first state to enter into the union in 1787. Our nation’s first capital city is Dover, and the state population is 873,092. The state marine animal is the Horshoe crab, the state bird is the Blue Hen Chicken and the state flower is the Peach Blossom. Delaware is best known for the family oriented vacation beaches, and tax free shopping as well as historical landmarks. The city of Rehoboth is known as the romantic get-a-way for couples, beach walkers, salt water taffy lovers and metal detecting as well as the legendary “Grotto’s Pizza.” Rehoboth Beach has a one mile sandy shoreline, a boardwalk, and arcades as well as dozens of restaurants and souvenir shops.
