Cheap Motels

In today’s times, why pay more than you have to. Motels are in the same category. Most people can put motels and into three categories. Expensive Motels, Cheap Motels, and Extended Stay Motels. Why so generic with the price? Because that’s how people actually see it in real life. Extended Stay Motels is basically just trying to make you a temporary home away from home for many different reasons. I can understand how some extended stay motels can be pricey. But what makes the other motels expensive or cheap.

Cheap Motels

Most of the time people associate a cheap motels with a motel that it’s in an undesirable location. Sometimes this is the case. But most of the time they are priced according to what they offer, and, which is usually what I find to be the case most of the time. A cheap motel is just a motel that is having a great deal that week. Most have pools, offer internet, have clean rooms, a nice bathroom, cable television, a morning breakfast, and so forth. In fact most motels have to offer more just to compete with the fancier hotels.

Expensive Motels

Usually these have the exact amenities ”cheap motels” have, but their primary asset is their location. Try thinking about a motel close to Disney Land, or the Grand Canyon compared to one sitting on “Bob’s Road” in the middle of Wisconsin. These motels don’t really have to offer much in the way of bargains because their location almost guarantees their rooms will be filled. But consider that motel that is 5 miles from Disney land, for that matter, consider the 10 motels 5 miles away from Disneyland, they all have no choice but to compete. And that will, a lot of the times, make that motel just as cheap as the motel on Bob’s Road.

However, do your research! Don’t go to a motel without knowing a thing about it. And many sites out there will tell you how they are a search and compare site. Usually these sites are just affiliated with sites they are promoting. You have to compare, price and research using one the most trusted sources in the business. And that’s Trip Advisor. Nothing competes with their 3 million reviews, their complete strip down of the layout of the building, and the nearby landmarks. They can tell you almost anything you want to know about any hotel or motel, cheap or expensive you want to know about. And any hotel or motel worth their salt will sign up with this company so that customers who have previously visited their hotel or motel can leave honest reviews for everyone to see. It’s an amazing site and a site I reference every single time I plan a trip. Not just in the U.S., but anywhere in the world. TRIP ADVISOR

Extended Stay Motels and Extended Stay Hotels

We are often asked exactly what are extended stay motels and extended stay hotels and what are their purpose? Although there are probably more answers than one, the primary reasons are as follows. Extended stay hotels and motels provide accommodations that create a “homelike” experience, and make longer stays more affordable. Instead of a small hotel or motel room, you will usually get something more along the lines of a studio suite. A studio suite is a hotel or motel room that will typically have a kitchenette and possible separate sleeping quarters. Some very nice extended stay motel and hotel suites will have a full living room to enjoy, making it feel even more like home and providing more room for entertaining business clients or enjoying time with the family.

Many of these extended stay lodging facilities are located near metro areas to provide more convenience and easy access to business functions. Most travelers will consider an extended stay hotel or motel if they are planning a trip that will last a week or longer, and they are highly favored by business travelers that travel frequently. Although they are great for business travelers because they will have the necessary amenities such as wireless high speed internet access or broadband, they are also great for lengthy family vacations. You may even consider one if you have a larger family or are expecting more guests. The reasons for booking a room at an extended stay hotel or motel are numerous.

Families on vacation will often stay at one of these multipurpose facilities to save even more money than on just the room. Eating out can be very expensive for a family of 4, and even more expensive for larger families. With the kitchenette built right in to the room, you can cook your own meals whenever you want. Obviously you also have the extra benefit of home cooked meals as well, which may be healthier especially if you are on a special diet. And for families with pets, many extended stay motels and hotels will allow you to bring the family pet, meaning they are “Pet Friendly”.

Another very popular reason for booking a room at an extended stay motel is if your house is being renovated. This is especially helpful if you have children. If you are going to be away from home for a long time, why not have the additional comfort of and extended stay motel, and the cheaper price. You will have many accommodations already included with the room that make living away from home much easier. Many of the kitchenettes will even have dishes and things like pots and pans for cooking, coffee cups and coffee makers. Other accommodations that you will find in hotels and motels that offer extended stays will be things such as housekeeping, laundry facilities, televisions, stoves, microwaves, swimming pools and workout rooms. And many will even have a restaurant very close by in case you don’t feel like cooking, it may even be in the extended stay hotel itself so you don’t have to drive. Most suites will offer cable tv with premium movie channels available or satellite television. The typical suite will have 2 beds in the separate bedroom and a sofa type hide-a-bed.

Although extended stay motels are very similar to extended stay hotels, there are a few differences. The first difference that travelers will notice is that the motels are less expensive than the hotels. Instead of having a full kitchenette like extended stay hotels do, extended stay motels will usually have a smaller eating area with a mini fridge and microwave. There is also a difference in the overall size of the rooms. An extended stay motel room will usually be about 20-50 square feet larger than a typical motel room. Extended stay hotel rooms can be much larger than a typical hotel room, with some being 100 square feet or more, larger than a typical hotel room. Some extended stay motels may only have 1 bed instead of 2. This is because many business travelers will not need a 2nd bed, so make sure to ask questions about what type of rooms are available and what amenities are included with your room.

Although there are many similarities between extended stay motels and extended stay hotels, there are also some important differences. If you are considering a family vacation that will last a week or more, you should always consider staying at an extended stay hotel or motel. The prices are affordable, the amenities are all inclusive, and you will have a lot more room to enjoy the company of your family.
